Quick answers to the most common questions about Social Hampster.
1. Do I need a developer to use Social Hampster?
No. Social Hampster is built for Framer designers, not developers. You connect your social accounts in the dashboard, click Copy next to the component you want, and paste it into your Framer project with Cmd+V or Ctrl+V. No code is required at any step. The component arrives pre-configured and ready to display your feed.
2. Does the free plan have view limits?
Yes. The free plan includes 3,000 views per month. A view is counted each time your feed component enters a visitor's viewport. If you exceed 3,000 views in a month, the feed will stop loading for the rest of that month. Upgrading to a Personal or Business plan removes the view limit entirely.
For context: 3,000 views per month is more generous than most competitors, which typically cap free plans at 1,000 views per month.3. What platforms are supported?
Social Hampster supports five platforms: Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Threads, and Dribbble. All five are available on the free plan. Threads and YouTube support are particularly rare among Framer plugins.
4. Why won't my Instagram connect?
Instagram's API only allows Creator and Business (Professional) accounts to connect to third-party apps. Personal Instagram accounts are not supported, this is a Meta restriction, not a Social Hampster limitation.
To fix this, switch your Instagram account to a Professional account inside the Instagram app: go to Settings and privacy, then Account type and tools, then Switch to Professional account. Choose Creator or Business. Once switched, return to the Social Hampster dashboard and connect your account.
5. My feed shows in Framer preview but not on my published site. Why?
This almost always means your domain has not been added to the whitelist. Social Hampster uses a domain whitelist to control which websites can display your feeds. Go to app.socialhampster.com/settings, find the Domain Whitelist section, and add your published domain in the format yoursite.com (no https://, no trailing slash). Then republish your Framer site.
6. How often does the feed update with new posts?
Social Hampster automatically syncs your feeds on a regular schedule to fetch new posts from your social accounts. If you want to pull in the latest content right now without waiting for the next automatic sync, click the Sync button on any feed card in the dashboard. The feed will update immediately.
7. Can I embed multiple feeds on the same page?
Yes. You can add as many feed components as you want to a single Framer page. For each feed you want to display, go to its Feed Details panel in the dashboard, copy the component, and paste it onto your canvas. Each component is independent and connected to its own feed. For example, you could show an Instagram Grid at the top of a page and a YouTube Slider further down.
8. Where do I find my Feed ID?
You do not need to find or enter your Feed ID manually. When you click Copy in the Feed Details panel and paste into Framer, the Feed ID is automatically embedded in the component. If you are curious, you can see the Feed ID in the Feed Details panel in the dashboard β it is the long string of characters shown there. But you never need to copy or paste it yourself.
9. How do I cancel my subscription?
Go to app.socialhampster.com/billing. Your subscription is managed through Polar, Social Hampster's billing provider. From the billing page you can cancel, change your plan, or switch between monthly and yearly billing. If you cancel, your paid plan remains active until the end of your current billing period, then your account reverts to the free plan.
10. Is my social account data secure?
Yes. Social Hampster connects to your social accounts using OAuth, which is the same secure authorization system used by all major apps. OAuth means Social Hampster never sees or stores your social media passwords. You grant permission directly on the social platform's own login page, and you can revoke that permission at any time from within the platform's settings.
